Five Huskies Named Pac-12 All-Academic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced the Pac-12 All-Academic teams for men's soccer and the Huskies had five student-athletes honored. Washington put three on the first-team, including senior Jamie Finch (Bothell, Wash.) who is now a four-time first-team honoree. To be nominated, student-athletes must have completed one academic year at their school, have a 3.0 overall GPA or higher, and be a starter or significant contributor to the team. Along with Finch, fellow senior Brent Richards (Camas, Wash.) earned first-team honors for the third time and junior Alex Klein (Seattle, Wash.) earned his first Pac-12 academic honor. Finch carries a 3.73 GPA in business administration and finance. Richards also carries a 3.73 in economics. Each of them was honored as ESPN All-District VIII Academic selections the last two years. Richards was a third-team Academic All-American last year. Klein has a 3.75 GPA in communications. Sophomore Spencer Richey (Seattle, Wash.) and junior Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) both earned honorable mention. It is the second-straight such honor for Tucker-Gangnes and the first academic honor for Richey. |
