Mike Casale Diary
Nov. 17, 2000 We dont know too much about Alabama. We really aren't worried about how they play, we're more worried about how we are going to play. We spent the week with high pressure and just working hard. We realize that we are basically five games away from winning it all. We see this as the first step out of five to really reach the goal that we set ever since I have been here, to get to the final four. But, we are really excited to have a night game, the weather will be to our advantage, it's cold and a little wet. We've had a great week of training and hopefully we can transfer that to the game tomorrow night with a victory.
I am kind of getting through an injury and if it was any other game, I would probably be thinking about taking it easy. But, knowing that this could be our last one, all four of us seniors are ready to play a huge role tomorrow night and lead the team. We know it could be our last game, but we are not trying to think of that because hopefully we will have four more. We are more excited than we have been for any other game.
Kai (Carroll) got Pac-10 Player of the Week last week and that was huge. Ben (Somoza) and Bryn (Ritchie) did a great job this year and got first team All Pac-10. I think we are getting some recognition because we have been working hard all season and now its all coming together. So, hopefully, tomorrow night we can take it up a step from what we did last Friday and show everybody here that we are ready to compete in the next level, which is the playoffs. |
