Finch was named for the week of Oct. 17-23 after getting his second assist of the year in a 2-1 win against Stanford and helping the Dawgs shut out Cal in a 1-0 victory. Richards was honored for the week of Oct. 10-16 after having two assists in a 2-0 win at Stanford and scoring both goals in a 2-1 two overtime win over Cal.

Richards Named Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week
Senior men's soccer forward Brent Richards was named the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 17-23. This is the first such honor for the men's soccer team on the year. Richards scored his 10th goal of the season in the 1-0 victory over Cal on Sunday, while leading the team with five shots in the game. He also led the team with five shots in the 2-1 victory over Stanford Friday night, assisting Abdul Aman's game-winning goal in the 41st minute. Richards is the first Husky to score 10 goals in a season since Ely Allen had 12 in 2007.

Richards Nets 10th Goal Of 2011
For the first time in his career, senior Brent Richards has scored 10 goals in one season. He scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory over Cal in Pac-12 play Sunday afternoon. The goal came in the 75th minute as junior Quinton Beasley was pulled down inside the box and was awarded a penalty kick, which Richards drove past Cal's keeper. A total of 10 Huskies took at least one shot. Sophomore goalkeeper Spencer Richey made four saves in goal and now has seven shutouts on the season, playing all 1400+ minutes for the Huskies.

For the second time in a week, the UW men's soccer team defeated Stanford in Pac-12 play. This time, it was a 2-1 victory in Seattle. All the scoring came in the first half and for the Huskies, it was the seniors that scored both goals and earned both assists. Senior Jacob Hustedt scored his third goal of the season, a header from the right side on a great pass from senior Jamie Finch. Just before half, the Huskies got the game-winner from senior Abdul Aman, his second goal of the season. The assist came from fellow senior Brent Richards.
