Husky Classic Welcomes Portland, Seattle & Brown

SEATTLE – For the first time since opening weekend on Aug .24, the UW men’s soccer team will play in Seattle and host the annual Husky Classic Tournament Friday and Sunday. Portland, Seattle U and Brown will also take place in the tournament that will be held at Husky Soccer Field and Championship Field at Seattle U. The first game of the tournament will be held at Seattle U between Portland and the Redhawks on Friday at 4 p.m. The final three games of the tournament can be seen at Husky Soccer Field. Friday night at 7 p.m. watch the Huskies take on the Brown Bears and on Sunday, the action will start with the Huskies hosting Seattle U at noon followed by Brown vs. Portland at 3 p.m. Washington and Brown have never met in men’s soccer. The Bears are 5-1-0 on the year and a perfect 2-0 in road games. Six different players have combined for the six goals scored on the season by the Bears. Sam Kernan-Schloss has played all 540 minutes in goal and allowed just one goal all season. Brown is receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll, just behind the Huskies. Seattle U is 1-4-0 on the year. The Redhawks are led by Race Sciabica with two goals. Jake Feener has made 28 saves in five games in goal. Washington is 38-5-5 all-time against Seattle U. The two teams tied last year.
