Richards Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Men's soccer senior forward Brent Richards (Camas, Wash.) was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week this week. This is the first such honor for Richards in his career. Richards was named the Portland/Nike Invitational MVP leading the Huskies to the tournament championship with a 1-0 victory over Loyola-Chicago in OT and a 1-1 draw with then-ranked No. 22 Florida Gulf Coast. He scored the game-winning goal vs. Loyola-Chicago in the 96th minute and had three shots in the game. Against one of the best keepers in the country vs. the Eagles, Richards took eight shots, four on goal. Richards has three goals in three games as the Huskies are 2-0-1 on the year and ranked No. 23 by the NSCAA. As a junior, Richards was an All-Far West Region and First-Team All-Pac-10 selection. He has led the Huskies in each of his three years in scoring. He has 24 career goals which put him just outside the Husky career leaders. |
