SEATTLE - The UW men's soccer team will be back out at Husky Soccer Stadium on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. scrimmage against Seattle Pacific. This is the second and final scrimmage of the preseason for the Dawgs before the first official game on Sept. 3 in Portland, Ore., vs. Evansville. The home opener is Sept. 22 vs. Gonzaga.

UW hosted Simon Fraser out of Canada last week in its first scrimmage. Senior Daniel Gray (Tacoma, Wash.), a transfer from Cal Poly, scored his first goal as a Husky in that contest.

Seattle Pacific started practice on Aug. 18 and this will be its first competition of the season. SPU is led by Mark Collings in his second season as head coach. The Falcons posted a 6-10-3 record in 2009 and finished second in the GNAC, NCAA Division II.

The Huskies use the scrimmages to test lineups and see where the newcomers fit into the system before the regular season begins.

This scrimmage is free to the fans. Please note that due to NCAA rules involving a scrimmage, no live stats can be provided and no results or statistics can be posted. Records and individual and team statistics are not affected by scrimmages and exhibitions.

Go Huskies!
