Men's Soccer Hits The Pitch For 2012
Aug. 10, 2012
SEATTLE - On a beautiful sunny week in Seattle, Jamie Clark's UW men's soccer team reported to fall camp on Aug. 7, moved into the dorms, had physicals and team meetings. The team hit the east practice field on Wednesday for a morning practice before a team scrimmage in the evening on the game field. The Huskies will have two practices a day for most of the month. The first outside competition for the team is Thursday, Aug. 16 as UW hosts Simon Fraser out of Canada in an exhibition match. The match is free for all and at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Field. After just missing out on the NCAA Tournament a year ago, Clark's Huskies are primed to get back into the field of 48 and make a long run. While current MLS star Brent Richards, along with the second leading scorer on last year's team, Jake Hustedt, graduated, the Huskies welcome 14 newcomers that have yet to wear at UW jersey. Several key components of last year's team also return in seniors Abdul Aman, Quinton Beasley, Dylan Tucker-Gangnes and Ben Fisk and junior goalkeeper Spencer Richey. |
