SEATTLE - Saturday afternoon at Championship Field on the campus of Seattle University (14th and Cherry), the Redhawks will host the 3rd Annual Inaugural SU vs. UW Unified Soccer Game and Player Clinic.

This event is in conjunction with the Washington and Seattle U women's spring game at 12 p.m. and the men's spring game at 4 p.m. The clinic will begin at 2 p.m. and be provided by both UW and SU coaches and student-athletes.

Seattle Public Schools Unified Soccer teams will compete with players from Seattle University and the Washington men's soccer teams at half-time of the women's spring game, after the clinic, and at half-time of the men's spring game as well.

Teams that are involved in the Unified Soccer League are: West Seattle, Chief Sealth, Rainier Beach, Cleveland, NOVA, Ballard, Roosevelt, Ingraham and Nathan Hale. Athletes earn a letter from participating in the SPS Unified Soccer League.

Unified Sports® brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team. Throughout the year, in a variety of sports ranging from soccer, basketball, golf to figure skating, Unified Sports® athletes improve their physical fitness, sharpen their skills, challenge the competition and have fun, too .

The Spread the Word to End the WordTM campaign is an ongoing effort by Special Olympics, Best Buddies International and our supporters to raise the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the word "retard(ed)" and encourage people to pledge to stop using the R-word. Urge spectators to pledge their support to end the use of the r-word by signing the pledge. The event is free to the public.

*Please note that spring games do not count towards team or individual records.

Go Huskies!
