Feb. 7, 2000 SEATTLE - Washington soccer standout Wes Hart was the seventh pick in the Major League Soccer draft on Sunday. The Colorado Rapids chose the Littleton, Colo., native as it's top choice. Hart was named to the NSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-American first team after earning second-team All-America honors from the association. Hart also earned a spot on College Soccer Online's second-team All-America list after receiving honorable mention honors from the publication last year. Ian Russell, a former Husky (1993-97) who has been playing for the Seattle Sounders, was chosen by San Jose in the fifth round. |
