SEATTLE - The 2012 MLS Super Draft will take place Thursday, January 12th at the Kansas City Convention Center at 9 a.m. PST. It can be viewed on ESPN2, TSN 2 (The Sports Network, Toronto, Ontario, Canada), RDS2 (Réseau des sports 2, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and on ESPN3.com.

The MLS Super Draft will encompass two rounds with 38 overall selections. In addition to that MLS teams will also have a four-round Supplemental Draft to select players; this will take place on January 17th in New York. Visit the MLS homepage for more draft information: http://www.mlssoccer.com/.

Husky seniors Jacob Hustedt and Jamie Finch have both been seen on multiple mock draft boards and hope to get drafted in one of the two drafts. Fellow senior Brent Richards signed with the Portland Timbers last week, prior to the draft.

Throughout Washington's history 16 players have been taken in the MLS Draft. The first was Goalkeeper Dusty Hudock with the ninth overall pick in the 1996 draft. But more recently former Husky midfielder George John was taken as the 14th overall pick in 2009. Throughout his professional career John has accumulated 95 total appearances and has been called up to train with both the US and Greek national squads.

Taylor Mueller was selected in the Supplemental Draft in 2011.

Go Huskies!
