Lee Just Misses Earning PGA Tour Card
Dec. 6, 2010
Scorecards: Richard Lee | Brock Mackenzie WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - Richard Lee wrapped up Qualifying School for the PGA Tour on Monday and ended up one-stroke below the cutline of golfers who earned their tour cards for 2011. Lee shot an even par-72 on the Crooked Cat Course and ended up at 8-under overall and tied for 30th. Typically, the top-25 players all earn their cards, but because several golfers were exempt the actual cutline was -9 and the top 29 players. Lee shot 421 (73-68-67-69-72-72-421) over the six rounds in six days. He was in prime position to earn his card and was 2-under through 10 holes, but bogeys on No. 15 and No. 16 put him even for the tournament. All is not lost for Lee, as he earned a fully exempt Nationwide Tour card for the first 10 events on the upcoming schedule. He also earned $5,000 for his week's work. Fellow Husky alum Brock Mackenzie ended up tied for 85th at 1-under 428 (73-74-74-68-69-70). |
