LA QUINTA, Calif. - After struggling to find his groove during the first two rounds of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament, Husky grad Richard Lee finally found his stroke in Friday's third round.

Lee, a 2010 All-American at Washington, shot 6-under 66 on the Jack Nicklaus Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif. to move all the way to 43rd on the leaderboard. Lee started the day in 108th.

Lee started his day on the 10th tee and trimmed three strokes off his score in the first six hole. He added a birdie on No. 1 and eagled No. 4 to get to -6 for the day. He added another birdie on No. 7 before ending his round with a bogey on No. 9.

Lee is 4-under (72-74-66-212) at the midway point of the qualifying tournament.

A total of 173 golfers are competing in the six-day, 108-hole grind at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif. at the TPC Stadium and Jack Nicklaus Tournament Courses. The top 25 will earn playing privileges on Tour in 2012 and the next nearest number to 50 will earn exempt status for the Nationwide Tour in 2012.
