Lee Looking To Earn PGA Tour Card

LA QUINTA, Calif. - UW alum Richard Lee, who finished 37th on the Nationwide Tour money list this past year, is trying to earn his Tour card by playing in the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament this week.
The Bellevue, Wash. native shot even-par 72 in Wednesday's first round and is tied for 107th.
The first round leaders are at -8 and a total of 25 golfers shot 5-under or better.
A total of 173 golfers are competing in the six-day, 108-hole grind at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif. at the TPC Stadium and Jack Nicklaus Tournament Courses. The top 25 will earn playing privileges on Tour in 2012 and the next nearest number to 50 will earn exempt status for the Nationwide Tour in 2012.
