Taylor Named To RCGA National Amateur Team

Oakville, Ont. - Washington sophomore golfer Nick Taylor was named to the 2008 Royal Canadian Golf Association Men's National Amateur Team, the RCGA announced Thursday.

Taylor, a native of Abbotsford, B.C., is one of six men to be named to the RCGA Amateur National Team. Taylor won the 2007 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship and the 2006 Canadian Junior Boys title. He is one of four newcomers to the team.

Taylor is also coming off a good fall with the Huskies, notching top-10 finishes in each of the last two tournaments. He was Washington's top finisher at this week's CordeValle Collegiate tying for seventh, and was UW's second best finisher at the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge where he tied for 10th.

The Huskies' spring season begins Jan. 28-29 at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate.
