Pan Fifth Heading To Final Round Of Asian Amateur
Nov. 3, 2012
BANGKOK, Thailand -- Husky sophomore Cheng-Tsung Pan carded his second-consecutive 67 in the third round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship on Saturday to move to 7 under at Amata Spring Country Club in Thailand. Pan enters Sunday's final round seven shots off the lead. Pan, from Maoli County, Taiwan, tied for the low round of the day in the field. He had an eagle, four birdies and just one bogey on Saturday. Pan was able to gain five shots on tournament leader Tianlang Guan of China, but still has a long road to climb, largely due to a first round 75. Guan, just 14 years old, is in position to earn an exemption into the 2013 Masters. If he can hold on to his two stroke lead, he would become the youngest competitor ever in the Masters. Oliver Goss of Australia is second at -12. |
