La QUINTA, Calif. - After starting the season with a win at the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational on Gold Mountain's Olympic Course in Bremerton, the Husky men's golf team's next task will be heading down south to take on yet another field of top collegiate golfers.

The three day, 54-hole Prestige tournament co-hosted by UC Davis and Stanford will be played at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. and feature some of the top teams from the Pac-12 and other major conferences across the U.S.

In addition to the Huskies, the tournament field will include Oregon, Central Florida, Stanford, San Diego, San Francisco, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Duke, Arizona State, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, USC, and UC Davis.

Huskies' Head Coach Matt Thurmond will use the same lineup as the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational, consisting of Chris Williams, Charlie Hughes, Cheng-Tsung Pan, Trevor Simsby and Cory McElyea.

Williams will be looking to etch his name in the UW record books as the solo leader for career wins after he tied Brock Mackenzie and Nick Taylor with four wins last time out.

The Huskies have won this tournament once, back in 2001. They ended up -20 that week and Mackenzie shared medalist honors at 13-under.

Tournament starting times will be based on a shotgun start format. Play will begin on 12:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday and at 7:30am on Tuesday.

The Greg Norman Course at PGA West is a par 72, 7,156-yard course and has played host to previous events such as the 2010 and 2011 Golf Channel Senior National Championship as well as the Intercollegiate Invitational.

Live scoring for the tournament will be available at Golfstat.com. Please return to GoHuskies.com following each day for recaps and results of all the action.

Go Huskies!
