SEATTLE-- Washington, victors in the season-opening Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational earlier this week, test their mettle again, starting Sunday at the PING-Golfweek Preview Invitational at Capital City Crabapple Club in Alpharetta, Ga.

The tournament is held each year at the site of the NCAA Championship and invites many of the teams expected to contend for the national title at the end of the season.

The Huskies are one of 14 out of the 15 teams competing that are ranked in Golfweek's preseason top-25. Besides the sixth ranked Huskies, the field includes Alabama (No. 1), Arkansas (7), California (2), Chattanooga (24), Florida State (16), Georgia (17), Georgia Tech (4), Kent State (13), New Mexico (18), San Diego State, Texas (3), Texas A&M (9), UCLA (5) and UNLV (15).

The tournament will be the second this fall for the Huskies. Not only did the Huskies claim the team title on Tuesday for their own 54-hole tournament, but they swept the top three spots of individual competitors. Cheng-Tsung Pan took home medalist honors by shooting 5-under par 211, while Chris Williams and Trevor Simsby tied for second at 1-under 215.

Those three will compete again this week for Matt Thurmond's Huskies and will be joined by senior Charlie Hughes and junior Gerrit Chambers. Hughes shot 1-under 71 in the final round on Tuesday to finish 22nd, while Chambers was second in the Husky Invitational Individual tournament on the Cascade Course after finishing 2-under.

The NCAA Championship will be held at Crabapple May 28-June 2, 2013. The Capital City Club Crabapple course will play to a length of 7,246 yards and a par of 70.

Admission is free all three days of the Preview. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. Sunday and Monday, and 8 a.m. for Tuesday's final round. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstatresults.com.

Since its inception in 1989, the Preview has brought together 15 prospective contenders for the NCAA title at the venue for that year's Division I championship. It is co-sponsored by PING and Golfweek magazine.

Go Huskies!
