LONDON, Ontario - Darren Wallace closed out his final round at the 106th Canadian Amateur with a birdie on 18, which pulled the recent Washington graduate into a tie for 17th. The Langley, B.C., native finished with a 1-over 73 at the London Hunt & Country Club, even par for the tournament.

Teammate and 2010 Ben Hogan Award winner Nick Taylor shot a 4-over 76 to finish at +3 overall. The Abbotsford, B.C., native began his round strongly with a birdie on the fourth hole, but couldn't sustain the momentum, dropping two shots with a double bogey on hole No. 9. Taylor then shot 3-over on the back nine, finishing with a par on 18. Wallace had a steady tournament in Ontario, totaling 11 birdies and 50 pars. Taylor was a monster on the Par 5s, shooting 6-under for the week. A departing senior like Wallace, Taylor notched 10 birdies and 47 pars.

Jens Bracht was the other Husky who made the long trip to London, but did not make the cut, shooting a 6-over par over his first two rounds.

Albin Choi of Toronto won the tournament with a total of 17-under par. He carded a 66 on his final round.

The winner of the tournament received an exemption to the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open in 2011.

Go Huskies!
