Simsby Ties For Tops Among Americans At Canadian Am

CUMBERLAND, Ont. -- Husky junior-to-be Trevor Simsby shot 69 in the final round of the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship on Friday at Camelot Golf and Country Club to finish 6-under 282 and end up tied for eighth. Simsby tied for top honors among Americans competing in Cumberland, Ontario during the week. Charlie Hughes, who will be a UW senior this fall, ended up tied for 30th. He shot a final round 73 to end up at +3 (291) overall. Canadian Mackenzie Hughes won for a second-straight year earning an exemption into this week's U.S. Amateur Championship and the 2013 RBC Canadian Open. Prugh Brothers Miss Pro Tour Cuts: Corey Prugh ended his run in the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, South Carolina after finishing +19 through 36 holes. Prugh shot 85 in windy conditions on a day that only four golfers shot under par. On the Web.com Tour, Corey's younger brother, Alex, finished -2 after two rounds of the Price Cutter Charity Championship, but still missed the cut by three strokes. |
