PGATOUR.com: Tournament Central | Leaderboard | Mackenzie's Scorecard TORONTO -- Former Husky All-American Brock Mackenzie entered the final round of the RBC Canadian Open tied for fifth and in position to have a career payday, but the St. George Golf and Country Club got the better of him on Sunday and he had to settle for 37th overall. Mackenzie was 5-over 75 on the day and ended up 5-under overall (64-68-68-75-275) for the tournament. He won $19,890 for his four-day effort. His 37th place finish was a career best on the PGA Tour. Carl Petterson rallied past Dean Wilson on Sunday to win the tournament at -14. Wilson finished alone in second place one stroke back. Mackenzie, making just the fourth PGA Tour event start of his career, started Sunday with bogeys on No. 2 and 3, but rebounded with back-to-back birdies on No. 4 and No. 5. He would bogey two more holes before converting a birdie on the 12th hole. Down the stretch, Mackenzie was roughed up by the difficult course in Toronto. He bogeyed No. 14 and 15 before finishing with a double bogey -- his first of the tournament -- on No. 18. The Canadian Open marked the first PGA event to feature three Huskies. Alex Prugh and Nick Taylor each failed to make the cut. |
