SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- Chris Williams has shot 9-under-207 through 54 holes of the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club and sits second out 63 competitors. Williams, the 2011 champion, is one stroke behind leader Kevin Penner and in prime position to become the first repeat championship of the tournament.

Williams shot rounds of 72 and 67 on Thursday to finish the day 5-under. He is one of 12 players that is under par through three rounds.

Cheng-Tsung Pan is the only other Husky under par at 3-under. He duplicated Williams 36 hole total on the day by shooting 5-under and is tied for sixth after firing 69 and 70 on Thursday.

Charlie Hughes and Trevor Simsby join Williams and Pan in the top-20. Hughes is even after shooting 73-71 on Thursday and Simsby bounced back from a first round 79 with a 71 and 68 on Thursday. Hughes is tied for 13th while Simsby is tied for 18th at +2.

Incoming freshmen Jonathan Sanders is tied for 34th at +8 and Tyler Salsbury is 55th at +16. Sanders had rounds of 74 and 72, while Salsbury shot 75 and 77.

The final 18 holes will be played all day on Friday. Admission is free to the tournament.

Lee, Kelly Impressive At Greenbrier
Richard Lee shot a first round 3-under 67 at The Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia and sits tied for 16th. Troy Kelly shot 1-under 69 to give the Huskies two representatives above the cut line after the first round. Kelly is tied for 41st.
