Williams Leads Six Huskies At Sahalee

Sahalee Players Championship Scoring SAMMAMISH, Wash. - Chris Williams is second after the first round of the Sahalee Players Championship to lead a contingent of six Huskies competing at Sahalee Country Club. The Sahalee Players Championship is the first leg of what is considered the Western Swing. Williams shot 4-under 68 in the first 18 of 54 holes to played today through Friday at the Sammamish club. Williams is the defending champion and trying to become the first competitor to win twice. He enters Thursday's two rounds of action one stroke off the lead. Charlie Hughes shot even-par 72 and is tied for 15th. Cheng-Tsung Pan is third among Huskies in 21st after shooting 2-over 74. Incoming freshmen Jonathan Sanders shot 6-over 78 and Tyler Salsbury shot 8-over 80. They are tied for 47th and 53rd, respectively. Trevor Simsby shoto 7-over 79 and is tied for 51st. The golfers will play 36 holes on Thursday and 18 more on Friday. |
