Nov. 23, 2010
EL PASO, Texas -- In a gathering of 32 of the best college golfers in the nation, UW sophomore Chris Williams finished 12th at the Western Refining College All]America Golf Classic on Tuesday. Williams shot an even-par 71 in the final round of the tournament held at 6,864-yard El Paso Country Club. He shot a pair of 69's on Monday and ended up with a 209 (-4). Williams' round included five birdies, but a double on No. 17 cost him a better finish than he would have hoped. Alex Ching of San Diego won the tournament after firing a 12-under 201. Ching finished last at the tournament last season. J.T. Griffin of Georgia Tech and Tain Lee of Claremont Mudd Scripps tied for second, three strokes behind Ching, at 9-under 204. |
