Slackman Leads Huskies to Seventh Place Finish

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Darren Slackman carded a season-best 4-under par 68 Sunday in the final round of the ASU Invitational. Slackman tied for sixth overall with an even-par 216 over the 54 holes played at Karsten Golf Course. The Huskies finished tied for seventh with USC, registering a team score of 881. UCLA won the tournament with 867, bettering second place Arizona State by three strokes. Washington junior Rob Rashell finished one-stroke back of Slackman after firing his second consecutive even-par score of 72 to finish with 217, tied for 11th. UCLA's Brandon DiTullio took medalist honors with a 5-under 211 for the tournament. Washington's seventh place finished marked the first time this spring that Washington has finished outside of the top-5. The Huskies have not finished worse than 10th all season.
