Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at SW Invite
March 24, 1998 WESTLAKE, Calif. -- The Washington men's golf carded a third round score of 290 at North Ranch Country Club to finish fourth place in the Southwestern Invitational. The Huskies carded a 54-hole score of 892, four strokes behind third place Brigham Young. Arizona State ran away with the tournament, bettering host school USC by 20 strokes for the title. The Huskies were again led by the stellar play of junior Rob Rashell. The Washington State Amateur Champion posted three scores under 75 to place in a tie for eighth with 220 for the tournament. Rashell has carded the low Husky score in four of the last five tournaments. Freshman Brian Nosler recorded Washington's best 18-hole score of the tournament with a one-under-par 70 in Tuesday's final round, placing him in a tie for 15th place overall. Scott Kral and John Moscrip completed the Washington scoring finishing 22nd and 36th, respectively. Paul Casey of Arizona State rode a final-round 66 to individual medalist honors, finishing four-under for the tournament. The Huskies play the is weekend in the Anteater Invitational, held in Irvine, Calif.
