Darkness Suspends Play With UW On The Course

LA QUINTA, Calif. - Washington was 3-under par as a team with three players still on the course when play was suspended on Monday during the first round of The Prestige at PGA WEST.

Chris Williams and Charlie Hughes were the only Huskies to finish the round. Williams shot 69 on the par-71 Norman Course, while Hughes shot 72.

Cheng-Tsung Pan was 2-under through 16 holes, Jonathan Sanders 1-under through 17 and Trevor Simsby was +2 through 15.

As it stands, Pan and Williams are tied for 6th among individuals. Sanders is amongst a group of golfers tied for 12th.

Hughes is tied for 35th and Simsby is tied for 51st.

TCU finished its round and leads at -6 (278). USC also completed its round and shot 279 to stake claim to second. Oklahoma State, UCLA and Texas Tech all completed their rounds and are tied for fourth at -1.

Three golfers completed their rounds and made into the clubhouse at 4-under 67 to share the lead.

Monday's round will be completed on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m., followed by Tuesday's regularly scheduled second round.
