UW drops from third to fourth in the team standings and Chris Williams has to throw out a 72 and 6th-place individual finish after signing an incorrect scorecard at the Western Intercollegiate.
Chris Williams is sixth and the Huskies are sixth as a team after two rounds of action on Saturday at Pasatiempo Golf Course for the 67th Annual Western Intercollegiate.
Jonathan Sanders and the Huskies will be among seven Pac-12 teams playing in the 67th Western Intercollegiate, Saturday and Sunday at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Chris Williams has to settle for fourth among individuals after entering the final round tied for the lead and the Huskies ended up third among the impressive 12-team field in the Aggie Invitational.
At Washington
• Established himself as the No. 3 golfer in the rotation as a sophomore.
• Played in all 12 events as a sophomore after competing in 8 events as a freshman, three as an individual.
• Has four career top-10 finishes.
2012-2013 (Junior)
•Second on team with a 70.20 stroke average.
•Finished first at the Pac-12 Preview with a low score of 66.
•Has four top-ten finishes.
•Recorded seven rounds in the 60s and nine rounds under par.
2011-2012 (Sophomore)
• Played in all 12 events.
• Third on the team with a 73.14 per round stroke average.
• Finished third behind Chris Williams and Cheng-Tsung Pan in five event.
• Had three top-10 finishes during the year.
• Season-best fifth at the Kikkor Husky Invitational.
• Low score of 67 came in the first round of the Gifford Intercollegiate and left him fourth after the first round.
• Notched three match play wins at the Del Walker Match Play Championships.
• Tied for 10th a the NCAA Southwest Regional.
• Tied for 37th out of 156 individuals at the NCAA Championship. Shot a Husky-best 70 in the second round.
• Trailed Cody Gribble of Texas 2up when match play was halted in the NCAA quarterfinals.
2010-11 (Freshman)
• Was the Huskies top finisher and was 6th overall at the Battle of the Beach after shooting 210 (E).
• Shot 65 (-5) in the second round of the Battle at the Beach, the lowest gross score in a round by any Husky during the year.
• Finished second among Huskies at the Western Intercollegiate, ending up tied for 33rd overall.
Junior Golf and Personal
• Led his high school team to a California State Championship in 2009 at Poppy Hills
• Finished 6th in the 2009 Junior World Championships at Torrey Pines
