Huskies Hold Christmas Workout In San Diego
Dec. 25, 2010
SAN DIEGO - As the air horn signaled the end of Saturday's practice, the Washington football team gathered at midfield of Torero Stadium where Coach Steve Sarkisian punctuated the workout with a simple message - "Merry Christmas."
Nevertheless, the team crammed in plenty of work in preparation for the Bridgeport Education Holiday Bowl during the two-hour practice on the University of San Diego campus. A few Huskies' fans in the area watched the workout, a spirited session that was held in full pads.
The team's usual practice music mix even held a few special California additions, featuring many hip-hop songs from West Coast groups.
After practice, the team had the rest of the afternoon to spend Christmas with friends and family. The group was to reconvene later Saturday night for an official dinner, sponsored by the Holiday Bowl, at the team hotel in downtown San Diego.
The Huskies take on Nebraska at Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. Full Holiday Bowl information is located on the GoHuskies.com Bowl Central page.
