Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been named one of just three finalists for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's top tight end, the Nassau County Sports Commission announced today.

Seferian-Jenkins, a sophomore from Fox Island, Wash., is joined by Stanford's Zach Ertz and Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert as a finalist. The winner will be announced at the The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on December 6.

Seferian-Jenkins already holds the Washington records for receptions (99), yards (1,289) and touchdowns (11) by a tight end. His 58 receptions this season currenly lead the nation (tied with Ertz) among tight ends and are also good for the single-season school record.

The Huskies (7-4, 5-3 in the Pac-12) close out the 2012 regular season Friday in the annual Apple Cup vs. Washington State. Kickoff in Pullman is set for 12:30 and the game will air live on FOX television.

Go Huskies!
