Seferian-Jenkins Names Mackey Award Semi-Finalist

Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been named one of eight semi-finalists for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation's top college tight end, the Nassau County Sports Commission announced today.
Seferian-Jenkins, from Gig Harbor, Wash., already holds numerous UW tight end records, including career receptions (96) and yards (1,267) and single-season receptions (55). His 55 catches this season leads the nation among tight ends.
Finalists for the Mackey Award, first presented in 2000, will be announced next Monday, Nov. 19. The award will be presented in December in Orlando, Fla. The eight semi-finalists include three Pac-12 players and six from the west coast. Seferian-Jenkins is the only sophomore on the list, which also includes four seniors and three juniors.
