SEATTLE - Senior cornerback Desmond Trufant of the Husky football team has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 22-28. The Tacoma, Wash., native played a huge part on defense as the Huskies upset No. 7 Oregon State in Seattle on Saturday night. In the Huskies' 20-17 over previously unbeaten Oregon State, Trufant finished with a game-high 10 total tackles, including nine solo stops and one tackle for a loss as the Huskies broke a three-game losing streak with their second win over a top-10 foe this season. Other nominees include: Lindsay Elston (women's soccer), Patrick Pacheco (men's soccer), Joey Bywater (men's cross country), Megan Goethals (women's cross country), Nicholas Kamisar (men's tennis), varsity 8 (women's crew), Julija Lukac (women's tennis) and Amanda Gil (volleyball). 2012-13 GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week: |
