SEATTLE - Junior running back Chris Polk has been named the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2. It is the first such honor of the season for Polk and the second for the football team. Polk was huge in the 31-14 victory at new Pac-12 foe Utah on Saturday. He rushed for 189 yards and how has 3,172 in his Husky career, just second all-time behind Napoleon Kaufman's school record. He is 934 yards back of the record. Other nominees include: Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann (women's soccer), Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (men's soccer), Chris Williams (men's golf), Nick Schippers (men's cross country), Joelle Amaral (women's cross country) and Lauren Barfield (volleyball).
