• Getting To The Game

SEATTLE - UW Commuter Services is partnering with Seattle bike groups to help Husky fans leave the congestion and expense of parking behind and turn getting to the game into part of the fun. New programs and services make riding bicycles to Husky football games easy and fun for the whole family.

The Burke-Gilman Trail, the region's premier biking and walking trail, runs from Ballard to Bothell and goes right past Husky Stadium along the way. Built on a former train bed, the trail offers a gentle grade without the challenges posed by some of Seattle's steep climbs. Once at the stadium, bikers can lock up to one of the many bicycle racks nearby, or skip the lock and use the new valet bicycle parking service.

Introducing Valet Bicycle Parking
Bike Works is working with UW Commuter Services to provide valet bicycle parking at all seven home games. Valet bike parking will work like a coat check for bicycles. Riders can drop off their bikes at the valet bike parking area (on the grassy triangle between Pacific Street, Montlake Boulevard, and Pacific Place) up to an hour before the game and receive a claim ticket. Staff will place the bikes in a secure bike corral and watch over them throughout the game. Riders have up to one hour after the game ends to collect their bike. The suggested donation for valet bicycle parking is $2.

Bike to the Game Discount Day at Husky Stadium - September 12
Ride your bike to the game against Idaho on September 12th and take advantage of special prices and fun on the first-ever Bike to the Game Discount Day at Husky Stadium.

Game tickets for bicyclists are discounted (based on availability) and bicyclists get to sit together during the game. Groups of 10 or more cyclists who order tickets together can choose a "team" name to be displayed on the HuskyTron. Order tickets before 9/9/09 using the form available by clicking here.

Bicycle Tailgate Party
Also on September 12, bicyclists are invited to join Cascade Bicycle Club and the University of Washington for the Husky Bicycle Tailgate Party. Participants can enjoy BBQ with all the fixin's and fresh smoothies from the bike powered blender' For kids (of all ages), there will be a bike art table. The Bicycle Tailgate Party will be front and center south of the stadium - you won't be able to miss it.
