Price Named To Manning Award Watch List
July 23, 2012
NEW ORLEANS - Husky quarterback Keith Price was one of just two Pac-12 quarterbacks named to the preseason watch list for the Manning Award, the Sugar Bowl announced Monday. Price, a junior from Compton, Calif., had previously been named to the watch lists for the Maxwell Award, given to the nation's top overall player, and the Davey O'Brien Award, presented to the nation's top QB. Last season, Price broke a number of school records in his first season as the UW's starting quarterback. He completed 242 of 362 pass attempts for 3,063 yards and 33 touchdowns. His 33 TD passes set a single-season school record, as did his 161.9 pass efficiency rating and his .669 completion percentage. The Huskies open the 2012 season Sept. 1 vs. San Diego State at CenturyLink Field. The 10 finalists for the Manning Award will be named on Nov. 26 and the winner will be announced Jan. 9. |
