Key Upcoming Fall Dates For UW Football
July 22, 2011
SEATTLE - As we move into the latter part of July, college football begins to loom on the horizon, and the Huskies are anticipating getting the 2011 season underway.
First up is the annual Pac-12 Media Day in Los Angeles, which will take place Tuesday, July 26. Coach Steve Sarkisian will be joined by junior tailback Chris Polk for the yearly event, along with the head coach and featured player from the 11 other conference schools. For a schedule of events, and information about how you can watch live, go to the Pac-12 website.
After the L.A. portion of Pac-12 Media Day, the 12 coaches will fly cross-country for two days in New York and Bristol, Conn., home of ESPN headquarters. On Wednesday, the coaches from the Pac-12 South will appear on various ESPN programs throughout the day. On Thursday, Coach Sarkisian, along with the other coaches from the North, will have their turn.
The first day of practice for the Huskies is Monday, Aug. 8. The Dawgs will work out every day, other than Sundays, until fall camp ends on Aug. 25.
The Huskies kickoff the 2011 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, vs. NCAA FCS champion Eastern Washington. That game gets underway at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ROOT Sports in the Northwest.
