Keith Price and the Huskies take on San Diego State Sept. 1.

July 18, 2012

FORT WORTH, Texas - Washington quarterback Keith Price has been named to the preseason watch list for the annual Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, the O'Brien Foundation announced today.

Price, a junior from Compton, Calif., was one of 34 players and just three from the Pac-12 Conference listed. Last week, Price was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, given to the nation's top overall player.

Last season, Price broke a number of school records in his first season as the UW's starting quarterback. He completed 242 of 362 pass attempts for 3,063 yards and 33 touchdowns. His 33 TD passes set a single-season school record, as did his 161.9 pass efficiency rating and his .669 completion percentage.

The Huskies open the 2012 season Sept. 1 vs. San Diego State at CenturyLink Field.

The O'Brien Award field will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Oct. 22 and three finalists will be revelaed on Nov. 19. The winner will be announced on Dec. 6.
