May 26, 2011
Washington players were well represented as Phil Steele's 2011 College Football Preview's pre season All-America and All-Pac-12 teams were announced today. Junior tailback Chris Polk and senior wide receiver Jermaine Kearse were both named to the All-America fourth team and were joined on the first-team All-Pac-12 squad by senior defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu and senior placekicker Erik Folk. Last season as a sophomore, Polk rushed for 1,415 yards, his second straight 1,000-yard season as a Husky and the second-most in UW history. Kearse totaled 1,006 receiving yards, seventh most in school history, last season. Several other Huskies also made the various All-Pac-12 teams. Junior cornerback Desmond Trufant was listed on the second team; senior offensive tackle Senio Kelemete and senior linebacker Cort Dennison were on the third team; and senior defensive lineman Everrette Thompson and senior cornerback Quinton Richardson made fourth-team.
