Washington Welcomes 27 New Huskies To Its Football Program

Complete Release in PDF Format SEATTLE - A total of 27 student-athletes have signed national letters of intent or financial aid agreements to enroll at the University of Washington and play football for the Huskies, head coach Tyrone Willingham announced today. The group includes 25 high-school athletes and two who attended junior college last year. Each student-athlete in the group will be expected to participate in the 2007 season, while three are expected to enroll in time for the spring quarter. Of the players in this year's recruiting class, six hail from Washington, 14 are from California, two are from Colorado and one each come from Hawaii, Texas, Utah, Oregon and Nevada. Following its season opener on Aug 31 at Syracuse, Washington will return to Seattle for a pair of home contests against Boise State (Sept. 8) and Ohio State (Sept. 15). The Huskies will also play USC, Oregon, Arizona, California and Washington State during its seven-game home schedule. Away contests include UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford and the regular-season finale at Hawai'i. Season ticket renewal forms are currently being distributed through the mail and are due for return by early-March.
