Husky Football to Open 1999 Season on a Thursday Night
February 5, 1999 SEATTLE, WA - The Rick Neuheisel era of Washington football will make its debut on ESPN. The Huskies season-opener at Brigham Young has been moved to Thurs., September 9, to accomodate a national cable television broadcast on ESPN. The game was originally scheduled for Sat., September 11. It will be Washington's first Thurday night football game during a regular-season. Last year, Washington had 10 of its 12 games broadcast on television. the Huskies Oahu Bowl match with Air Force was on ESPN. The Pac-10 Conference will announce additional network-televion games later this spring.
