UW Maintains Existing Football Season Ticket Prices
Jan. 25, 2008
SEATTLE - When University of Washington football season ticket holders receive their 2008 renewal notification in the mail next week, they should immediately recognize a pleasant surprise. The cost of season tickets to attend the Huskies' seven games this year did not increase over last season.
The Husky Ticket Office is currently in the process of delivering renewal notices to Washington's more than 15,000 season ticket holders. Last fall the UW sold a total of 50,509 season tickets - a four percent increase over the previous season. In addition, the UW sold 3,676 four-game mini-plans, which represented a 286 percent increase over the previous season's three-game package.
Washington registered the seventh-highest average attendance increase among Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A) institutions last season, boosting its per-game attendance by 10,149 fans per game.
Husky fans purchasing Tyee or public reserved season tickets will pay $390 per seat, which includes a single ticket to each game at a cost of $45 per seat in addition to an additional $75 building for excellence donation. The cost of purchasing a single ticket to each of the seven games on this year's schedule individually would be $470 - an increase of $80. In addition, season ticket holders receive a discount and/or the first option to purchase additional single game tickets to any of UW's home or away games.
For the second year in a row, Washington will play seven home games as part of a schedule that is considered one of the toughest in the nation. In addition to games in Husky Stadium against Pacific-10 Conference opponents Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA, the Huskies will host non-league games against Brigham Young University, Oklahoma and Notre Dame.
Five of UW's home opponents appeared in bowl games last season. Among its three non-league opponents, BYU has the nation's longest win streak and Big 12 Conference champion Oklahoma advanced to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl for the second straight season.
Single game tickets are expected to go on sale July 28.
