Jan. 3, 2000 Seattle - Washington athletic director Barbara Hedges announced today that the Huskies’ Sept. 23 football game against Idaho has been moved to Sept. 2. The game will now be the season opener for the Huskies. Originally, Washington was scheduled to open the 2000 season vs. Miami on Sept. 9. Kickoff for the Idaho contest is still scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT. With the date changes, the Huskies will now have a bye week on Sept. 23, a week prior to its road game with Oregon. Under its original schedule, Washington would have played 11 consecutive weekends without a bye during the season. The Huskies moved the date of the Idaho game to accommodate a request from the Pac-10 Conference, which rescheduled Stanford’s game at Washington State from Sept. 23 to Sept. 2. The Stanford-Washington State game will be televised by either ABC Sports or Fox Sports Net. Idaho will now face Washington State on Sept. 23 instead of the game’s original date of Sept. 2. Final approval of the date changes will take place Feb. 4 when the Pac-10 athletic directors meet. Here is a look at Washington’s revised 2000 Schedule:
