2009: A former baseball player, Dickey spent the 2009 season on the football team ... didn't see any game action ... given a tryout late in spring practice and is slated to join the team in the fall. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL: Sociology major ... hadn't played football since senior year of high school (fall of 2004) ... spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as a pitcher on the UW baseball team, having transferred to Washington from Lower Columbia CC, where he was an all-league player ... led the Huskies in saves with five in 2008, when he appeared in 16 games, went 0-1 and posted a 3.56 ERA ... was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2005 draft and by the Rockies in the 2006 draft ... also a standout football player at Lake Washington High School, earning three letters ... named to the Seattle Times "Star-Times" team as senior punter, when he averaged 43 yards per punt ... also made all-league and honorable mention all-state as both a punter and kicker, making 8-of-12 field goal attempts as a senior ... helped football team to state as a junior and senior. |
