SEATTLE - After averaging 25.0 points per game and setting a UW freshman record with 27 points against UC Santa Barbara, men's basketball player Tony Wroten has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Wroten's 27 tied the most by a Huskies freshman, a record shared by Isaiah Thomas from 2008 and Huskies assistant Paul Fortier from 1983. He went 11-for-21 and added seven rebounds and two steals against the Gauchos. Wroten continued with a hot hand Sunday against South Dakota State, pouring in 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting.
The Husky men's basketball team returns to action Thursday as it hosts Cal State Northridge at Alaska Airlines Arena.
