WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott announced today that Washington senior forward Quincy Pondexter has been named the Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 9-15.

Pondexter earned co-MVP honors with Isaiah Thomas at the Athletes in Action Classic in Seattle after averaging 22.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg and leading the Huskies to a perfect 3-0 record. In addition, the Fresno, Calif., native shot 63.9 (23-of-36) percent from the field and .952 from the free throw line, including hitting 20-straight from the charity line.

In Friday's 74-69 victory over Wright State, Pondexter recorded 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Against Belmont on Saturday, he equaled a then-career-high 25 points on seven-of-12 shooting and a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line, as well as dishing out three assists. Wrapping up the weekend against Portland State, Pondexter posted a new career-high 29 points (20 in the first half) and equaled a career-high 13 rebounds. He was nearly perfect from the field (11-of-12) and foul line (7-of-8) and also dished out three assists.

This is the first weekly honor for Pondexter and Washington's 34th all-time Player of the Week.

Go Huskies!
