UW Picked Fourth In Pac-12 Media Poll

LOS ANGELES -- Washington is picked to finish fourth in the 2011-12 Pac-12 Conference men's basketball race, according to a poll of media members who cover Pac-12 men's basketball. Washington received 355 points. The UCLA Bruins are tabbed as the conference favorite after receiving 14 first place votes and 421 total points. Cal received 13 first place votes and 405 total points to rank second. Defending conference champions Arizona received 11 first-place votes and 404 total, just one less than Cal, to rank third. Behind Washington is Oregon, who received 282 points. Stanford (255) is sixth, followed by USC (194), Oregon State (188) and Arizona State (148). Washington State tied for 10th with Colorado, each garnering 119 points. Utah finished last with 74 points. Pac-10 tournament champion Washington was picked to finish first last season, a year in which they actually ended up third.
