SAN ANTONIO -- The United States (3-0) won Group B by dominating Argentina 88-67 to end Preliminary Round play at the 2010 FIBA-Americas U18 Championship played at Bill Greehey Arena in San Antonio, Texas. Husky sophomore Abdul Gaddy contributed four points on two-for-two shooting and also dished out two assists in 15 minutes of action.

Four players scored in double digits for USA who will face Canada (2-1) tomorrow in the semifinals at 7:00 pm CT (5:00 pm PT). Argentina (2-1) will face rival Brazil (3-0) at 5:00 pm CT in the semifinals.

It was a close game and Argentina had a 10-7 lead with six minutes left in the first quarter after a three pointer by Patricio Gullotta, but back to back threes by Austin Rivers and Kyrie Irving put USA up 13-10 and started a 9-0 run. USA finished the first quarter up 24-16 led by Rivers who had 7 points and for Argentina Pablo Perez had 6.

In the second quarter USA picked up their defensive intensity, allowing just 9 points from Argentina and on offense made 27 to end up 51-25.

During the third quarter USA had a 37 point lead (78-41) and ended up 79-43. In the final ten minutes Argentina cut the lead but it was too late.
