WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Washington junior forward Brendan Sherrer was named honorable mention on the 2011 Pac-10 Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Larry Scott. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

On the court, Sherrer played in 13 games and averaged 2.5 minutes in those appearances. He scored 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds during the season.
Sherrer joined the team in October of 2009 after making the team during open walk-on tryouts. The one-time member of the Dawg Pack has become a fan favorite and has been annointed the "Human Victory Cigar" by some members of the media. In his 23 career appearances, Washington has won all those games by at least 18 points.
It marks the 18th time in UW men's basketball history that a player has been honored academically by the Pac-10 Conference.
