UW-Oregon NIT Release 
SEATTLE - Fur and feathers will fly on Tuesday when the Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks battle with a place in the semifinals of the NIT on the line. UW and Oregon will tip off at 6:00 p.m. at Alaska Airlines Arena, marking the third time the two rivals have met this season. Each won on their homecourt in impressive fashion during the regular season.
For Washington, they have never made it past the quarterfinals of the NIT and advanced to play at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Both teams are on a roll, with Oregon winning 13 of their last 17 games, while UW has won 15 of its last 19 games. The game will mark the first time in 46 post-season games UW has faced a conference foe.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN with Dave Flemming and Sean Farnham calling the action. Bob Rondeau and Jason Hamilton will provide home radio coverage on KJR 950 AM & 102.9 FM and the Washington IMG College Sports Network throughout the Pacific Northwest. UW Director of Writing Gregg Bell will host a LIVE chat on GoHuskies.com.

Fans can purchase NIT semifinal and final tickets now directly from Madison Square Garden: online at Lorenzo Romar, the Huskies are 14-8 vs. the Ducks, including 9-1 at home. The only Oregon win during that 10-year span came in 2010. Oregon head coach Dana Altman is 2-3 vs. Washington. UW and UO have met three times in the post season, all in the Pac-10 Tournament with the Huskies holding a 2-1 advantage.
Scouting Oregon
Oregon improved to 24-9 after beating Iowa 108-97 on Sunday in the second round of the NIT. The Ducks were 13-5 in conference action and finished tied for second. They have won six of their last seven games, with their lone loss coming in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament to the eventual champions Colorado ... Dana Altman is 43-26 in two seasons at Oregon. He has compiled a 453-269 record in 23 overall years ... Oregon is 13-4 over their last 17 games, having lost those four games by a combined total of 10 points ... The Ducks are 13-10 overall in NIT games. Oregon has won eight of its last 11 NIT contests (1999, 2004, 2012 tourneys). UO has advanced to the NIT semifinals on three occasions (1975, 1999, 2004) ... Devoe Joseph (16.9 ppg) was named first team all-conference, while E.J. Singler (13.4 ppg) received second team honors. Garrett Sim (12.3 ppg) was an honorable mention selection. Tony Woods honorable mention for the Pac-12's All-Defensive Team.
Last Time Vs. Oregon (2/9/12)
AP - Reserve Carlos Emory scored 16 points and Oregon knocked off Washington with a resounding 82-57 victory. Garrett Sim, E.J. Singler and Devoe Joseph all added 13 points for the Ducks. Tony Wroten scored 14 points to lead Washington, which had won five straight and eight of nine. Oregon couldn't have scripted a better first half. The Ducks shot 64.3 percent from the field, including 6 for 8 from the 3-point line, and scored 12 points off seven UW turnovers to take a 49-26 lead at the break. The Ducks finished shooting 56.5 percent, led by Emory's 7-for-8 performance. Washington shot 38.9 percent. Oregon also outrebounded the Pac-12 rebounding leaders 39-38.
UW In The NIT So Far
The Huskies have advanced to the NIT quarterfinals for the second time in team history but have never made it to the semifinals in NYC.
The Huskies are averaging 79.0 ppg and have outscored UT Arlington and Northwestern by an average of 15.5 points.
Terrence Ross has averaged 27.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg, including a career-high 32 points vs. Northwestern. He is 9-of-22 (.409) from 3-point range and 19-of-36 (.528) overall from the field.
Despite leading UW in scoring during the regular season, Tony Wroten is averaging 5.5 ppg and is just 4-of-10 from the field. He is averaging 7.5 apg.
C.J. Wilcox is 2nd in scoring with 17.5 ppg.
UW NIT History
Washington is making its first appearance in the NIT since 1997 and its sixth overall trip to the post-season tournament. The Huskies also played in the 1996, 1987, 1982 and 1980 NIT and have compiled a 5-5 overall record after earning their first victory in 25 years on March 13 vs. UT Arlington. The Huskies have only hosted four games and are 3-1 in those home contests. They had previously hosted a game on March 16, 1987 when the beat Boise State 73-68 before losing on the road in the third round to Nebraska in Lincoln. The only other home game they hosted prior to this year was a 1982 second round contest that they dropped 69-65 to Texas A&M.
Post-Seasons Under Romar
For the fifth-straight year Washington is making a post-season appearance. After playing in the 2008 CBI, UW made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. In all, Washington has made 8 post-season tournaments in Lorenzo Romar's 10 years tenure. The Huskies are 10-7 in post-season tournaments, including 8-6 in six NCAA appearances and 0-1 in the 2008 CBI and 2-0 in NIT appearances. This marks the first NIT appearance for Washington under Romar. Romar led his Pepperdine Waves to the 1999 NIT in his last season coaching there and lost in the first round.
