STILLWATER, Okla.- Joe Adkins scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half, including three straight baskets that repelled a Washington rally in Oklahoma State's 81-66 victory at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The outcome marked the first loss of the season for Washington while the Cowboys extended their national-leading streak of home victories over non-conference opponents to 76 games. Oklahoma State limited the Huskies to 29-percent (7-24) first-half shooting and forced 15 turnovers en route to a 40-25 halftime advantage. The lead grew to as many as 22 points before a 13-2 run closed the gap to 57-46 with 10:16 remaining. Adkins scored the next six OSU points to stop the surge. Adrian Peterson and Desmond Mason scored 14 points for the Cowboys while Doug Gottlieb added eight points and 11 assists. Donald Watts scored 17 of his career-best 21 points in the second half. Todd MacCulloch finished with 11 points and Chris Walcott added 10 for the Huskies who shot 38 percent (22-58) for the game. Oklahoma State shot 56 percent (32-57) from the field.
