Two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum, the most decorated baseball player in UW history, is now a two-time World Series champion as his San Francisco Giants swept Detroit in four games.

The World Series crown is the second in three seasons for Lincecum and the Giants, who beat the Rangers in five games in 2010.

Lincecum, who was the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year and in 2004 and 2006 and won the Golden Spikes Award in '06, completed his sixth season with the Giants in 2012. In six seasons, he is 79-56 with a 3.31 earned run average and 1,317 strikeouts in 1214.0 innings. In postseason play, he's 5-2 with a 2.47 ERA.

Congrats to Tim and his teammates from the UW baseball family!

Go Huskies!
